The first part of the book contains different essays regarding the English copyists in the eighteenth and nineteenth century, the copying in violin making, the copies and models of the Cannone in Italy and also the influence of Guarneri on violin making in France. The central part regards the description of some models of the English, French and Italian school and moreover the original “Il Cannone” of Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù.
